Want to learn about changes to your child’s financial supports?

Developmental Disability WA (DDWA) are hosting their Approaching Adulthood for Families workshop for parents and carers of young people with disability aged 14-18 years.

This workshop aims to address questions and concerns many families face during this crucial transition time in their child’s life.

Attendees will learn what they need to know and start doing before their child turns 16, and as they approach adulthood.

Guest presenters from Centrelink (Services Australia) will also be joining the workshop.

Presenters will cover a range of topics, including:

  • Medicare privacy after a child turns 14
  • Centrelink: Centrelink nominees, Disability Support Pension, Health Care Card
  • Carer Payments and Allowance
  • NDIS Nominees
  • Guardianship and administration
  • And more

Morning tea will be provided.
