Supporting your child’s personal boundaries
SECCA is hosting their Boundary Setting and Protective Behaviours workshop for parents and carers of children with disability.
Social distance, personal space and social and sexual concepts are important life skills for everyone to know. At the same time, they are not easy skills to teach and require additional strategies and support for people with disability.
This workshop introduces the two fundamental messages of Protective Behaviours and strategies to support teaching them.
One of these strategies includes the Social Circle Concept (SCC). SCC was developed to give people with disability an understanding of personal boundaries which is an essential element of protective behaviours.
A light morning tea will be provided. Please bring your own lunch and water bottle. A fridge and microwave will be available, and you’re welcome to use them.
Please note, if you are a Health Care Card (HCC) holder, 50% of the ticket price ($60) will be refunded on proof of HCC. You can upload a photo of your HCC when registering for a faster refund.
