Building courageous lionhearts
Lionheart is running their New Families Camp across two days for children aged 5-17 years who have experienced the death of a sibling, parent or primary carer.
The New Family Camp is free and designed to provide a safe, fun-filled space for children to explore and understand their grief through a series of group activities.
Attendees will be organised into smaller groups of similar ages to complete activities such as:
- Art and crafts
- Question-and-answer style discussions
- Games
- Problem-solving
- Science experiments
- Yoga
For children aged 13-17 years, there are opportunities to utilise peer support and engage in conversations about the issues associated with grieving while also navigating adolescence.
The next New Families Camp will be held in the Peel Region on Friday, 5 April and Saturday, 6 April 2025. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
