Get ready to stir up some fun these school holidays!

Senses WA is running their school holiday cooking groups over four sessions for children and young people aged 7-17 years with disability.

This group is set in a safe and inclusive environment, incorporating social skills and kitchen skills. The group uses Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) principles to increase exposure to new foods for picky eaters while also having fun.

The SOS approach looks at all the different things that can affect a child’s eating, such as movement, mouth skills, behaviour, health, senses, and nutrition.

The group aims to help participants develop skills such as:

  • Teamwork
  • Kitchen skills, safety and hygiene
  • Following instructions and recipes
  • Organisation and problem-solving
  • Expanding their range of foods

Please note that commitment to all four sessions is required. Due to the group format, once signed up you will be charged for all sessions regardless of attendance.
