Cultivate a relationship of mutual respect with your child’s team

There will be times throughout your child’s life when you need to step in and advocate on their behalf. As a parent or carer of a child with a disability, you know your child best. By learning to advocate for both yourself and your child, you can ensure the best outcomes for your family.

Parents and carers raising children with disability aged 0-18 years are invited to join Kiind online for another term of Virtual MyTime!

Virtual MyTime is a dedicated online space for parents and carers to connect. Whether you live in regional or remote areas or face barriers to attending in-person support groups, Kiind is here for you, no matter your location.

This session will be facilitated by Kiind’s Peer Navigation team and joined by guest speaker, Rachel Callander. Rachel will be sharing her own lived experience to help attendees understand how to build positive relationships with service providers and your child’s teams. The session will focus on self-advocacy, making the most out of appointments with your child’s treating and therapy teams, and how to cultivate a relationship of mutual respect.

Everyone who registers and attends the workshop will receive a free resource pack filled with essential tools to help you confidently build positive relationships with your child’s therapy team.
