Wanjoo Wanjoo Nidja Maawiy
The City of Armadale is hosting a Welcome Baby to Country event to celebrate and honour mothers and families in the community.
This event is aimed at families who have recently welcomed a child, or have a child aged under 2 years. This is an acknowledgement of Koorlangka connection on Noongar Boodja, in which they were born and raised on. A local Elder will conduct a Smoking Ceremony in light and celebration of their births.
The day will also feature cultural dance, a seasonal naming ceremony, and opportunities to speak to community organisations to find out what supports are available to families.
