We are thrilled to share our impact
This year we celebrated 36 years of delivering valuable services and supports to over 6,000 WA families raising a child with disability.
Following on from our Annual General Meeting this week, Simon Corrigan has announced that after five years of growth and success, he will be stepping down as Chair of Kiind and taking on a new role as Director. We would like to express our gratitude for his valuable contributions during his term. Kiind warmly welcomes Cristian Rapanaro into the pivotal position of Chair, and we look forward to the future of Kiind under his leadership.
Additionally, we would like to say farewell to Vice-Chair, Shawn Pearson, who has served on our Board for 11 years, and to Director, Emma Socatar, who will also be stepping down. We thank you both sincerely for the contributions you have made to Kiind during your tenure.
Kiind has had a big year, from our new name to our digital transformation and expansion of our systemic advocacy.

We’ve had a significant impact on the families we support and the broader disability landscape, this includes:
- Our membership grew to 6,138 families raising children with disability
- We helped 874 parents and carers access individualised support with a Kiind Peer Navigator through our Pathway Planning Sessions
- 4,759 members accessed valuable peer support through our Kiind Families Facebook group
- We helped families access over 500 inclusive events and activities from 230 organisations via our What’s on guide
- We undertook 17 significant systemic advocacy initiatives, relating to early childhood intervention, health, mental health, NDIS, and education
We are proud to have achieved so much this year and look forward to helping even more families to Connect, Learn, and Be heard next year. We would like to thank our wonderful members, supporters, Board, staff, and volunteers who have helped make this year so momentous for Kiind.
