Learn tools and resources to support the PDA journey

Parents and carers raising children aged 0-18 years are invited to join Kiind online for a free workshop exploring Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

The workshop will feature guest speaker, Dr Theresa Kidd from The Kidd Clinic. The session will provide a space for parents and carers to deepen their understanding of their child or adolescent.

Dr Kidd is a clinical psychologist, research fellow, and the Clinical Director of The Kidd Clinic. Dr Kidd’s work focuses on autism, ADHD, PDA and mental health across the lifespan. Dr Kidd has lived experience as a neurodivergent woman and member of a neurodivergent family which brings both personal insight and a professional perspective to her work.

The session will focus on:

  • What is PDA? – An introduction to PDA including what it means and what everyday signs you might notice in your child.
  • Why demand avoidance happens – We’ll explore what’s really going on behind the behaviours including how factors like anxiety, a need for control and sensory or emotional challenges can make everyday demands feel overwhelming.
  • Helpful resources and next steps – We’ll share practical tips, tools, and places to where you and your family can find more support.
