Kings Park is home to an incredible diversity of flora and fauna and is blessed with one of Perth’s most outstanding views of the city. The Art Gallery of WA (AGWA) is home to classic contemporary regional art, designed to spark imagination. See works from world-renowned artists and also get a dose of some local flavours too. There are spacious halls and large lifts for wheelchair access and the gallery is easy to get to by train.

Perth Mint

Worth its weight in gold, a visit to the Perth Mint is a must if you’re looking for cheap and cheerful entertainment that is also wheelchair friendly. The building itself is housed among some of the city’s most beloved architecture and is also educational.

Their programs include the use of accessible fishing gear such as purpose-built motorised rods, reels, and fishing holders. They provide wheelchair-accessible vessels for guided river, ocean, and estuary fishing trips, and advice on universally accessible fishing locations and facilities.

Perth Zoo

Perth Zoo is home to animals and plants from all corners of the globe. Wheelchair hire, assistance animal access, a wheelchair-accessible trampoline, social stories, and an accessibility map are available.

The accessibility map is a symbol-based map that groups the facilities into audio-visual, tactile/interactive, sensory/olfactory, tranquil/rest areas and aural/keeper talks. It also shows ACROD parking, doors, and inclines.

AQWA – The Aquarium of Western Australia

An underwater adventure awaits you at AQWA! From sharks to sea turtles to everything in between, explore over 12,000 kilometres of WA’s coastline with just one visit to AQWA. The entrance and exit have ramp access, and the Shipwreck Coast aquarium (the underwater tunnel) can be accessed via the lift. Elizabeth Quay is a waterfront attraction designed for entertainment and leisure. It offers entertainment, restaurants, shopping, an interactive waterpark, a ferry terminal, an island, and a bridge with universal wheelchair access.

Pathways are also interconnected with boardwalks and ramps, with accessible toilet facilities including Perth’s first changing places for people with disability.
