Helping neurodivergent girls feel understood and supported
Content warning: This session will include discussion of self-harm and other sensitive topics.
This week’s session of Kiind’s Virtual MyTime will be focussing on how to support neurodivergent girls, particularly during the teenage years. To help guide the conversation, we’re pleased to welcome Lauren and Anthea from Ability WA. Both are Occupational Therapists and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners who will share their knowledge and practical strategies for supporting neurodivergent girls.
Together we will cover:
- Understanding the unique experiences of neurodivergent girls during adolescence.
- Social isolation and withdrawal.
- When a young person refuses to engage with services and supports.
- Responding to and supporting young people experiencing self-harm.
