Join Developmental Disability WA (DDWA) for their upcoming workshop, Leaving School Without a Job. This workshop is for parents and carers of young people who are in Years 10-12 and living with an intellectual and developmental disability.
The aim is to explore alternatives where employment and education may not be the immediate goal. DDWA will cover topics such as:
- Preparing for this transition – including NDIS, documentation and financial help
- Communication and Supported Decision Making
- Community Participation – including interests, health and wellbeing and friends
- Day programs, social activities and events
- Where to find events and activities
- Employment and further education
