Support your child’s move to school with confidence
Therapy Focus’ early support program, First Focus, helps children with developmental delays and learning difficulties build the skills they need to start kindergarten or pre-primary with confidence.
Weekly group sessions are run over an eight week period and target language, attention, gross and fine motor skills. Sessions are held at Therapy Focus’ offices, Education Support Centres, or local community centres. The aim is to make the transition to school smoother for children and families alike.
The program is available to children who:
- Are aged 3.5-5 years
- Have learning difficulties or developmental delays
- Are not accessing the NDIS or government-funded therapy services
- Are not attending full-time school
Program Dates:
- Initial Assessments: Saturday, 26 September – Sunday, 11 October 2026
- Group Sessions: Eight week program running Monday, 19 October – Friday, 11 December 2026
- Post-intervention Assessments: Finalised and sent by Monday, 21 December 2026
First Focus is made possible with generous support from Telethon. To start the program, you will need to pay a one-time co-contribution of $80 upfront after your initial assessment is approved.
Places are limited, and applying does not guarantee entry to the program. All applications will be reviewed by an allied health professional to determine eligibility.
