Enjoy a weekend away from home

The WA Foundation for Deaf Children (WAFDC) is hosting their annual Family Camp for deaf and hard of hearing children aged 12 years and under. Grandparents, siblings and parents are all welcome to attend.

The WAFDC Family Camp is an inclusive camp with a range of activities for the whole family, including arts and crafts, a Bunnings workshop and parent workshops.

The camp aims to connect families with others who are travelling along a similar journey. WAFDC deaf and hard of hearing mentors will also be in attendance. Attendees are welcome to connect with mentors and learn more about their experiences.

The camp includes individual rooms for each family with shared bathrooms and toilets.

The camp will be located next to Rockingham Beach. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own swimwear to enjoy free time.

Please note that if you wish to claim camp fees through your child’s NDIS plan, WAFDC can claim from the following categories:

  • Access Community, Social and Recreational Activities
  • Community Participation Activities
  • Interpreting and Translating (Core Support)
